Paceña
Paceña beer is brewed and bottled amongst one of the world's purest sources of water – the Andes Mountain Range in Bolivia.
In 1886, the first Bolivian brewery was founded by German visionaries who identified the ideal ingredient for their beer brewing business - the quality and purity of the mountain waters - 3600 meters above sea level.
Since then, Paceña has continued to excel in its quality and high prestige, earning an indisputable market leadership in Bolivia and other South American countries. This success has paved the way for the product to now be distributed to other parts of the world, in particular Australia.
Paceña is a 5.2% alcohol pilsener-style beer with a slightly sweet, malt body and fairly short bitter hop finish. Its colour is a bright gold, with a slight haziness, active carbonation and moderately sized head of white-coloured foam. It can be likened to Hoegarden.
The word Paceña is associated with the Bolivian people from the city of La Paz the capital of Bolivia – a city with a history of powerful events and influential leaders including Inca rulers, Spanish conquistadores and revolutionists - all making their mark on the city and its people. Paceña is much the same as the city from which it originates, and often rightfully described as a beer of German-design yet uniquely characterised by its South American roots and soul.
